Conservative Group Ranks Thomas More Among Top Schools

The Virginia-based Young America’s Foundation recently recommended the Thomas More College of Liberal Arts as one of the nation’s top conservative colleges in its sixth annual “Top Conservative Colleges” list.

Commenting on the list, Young America’s Foundation President Ron Robinson explained, “Given the liberal bias in higher education today, it is critical that we make these recommendations.  We want conservative students and parents to be well informed before they make this important decision.”

Young America’s Foundation publishes its Top Conservative Colleges list annually for students and parents to aid in their college searches.  The sixth annual list is based on criteria developed by Young America’s Foundation.  A conservative college must: “proclaim, through its mission and programs, a dedication to maintaining and strengthening the conservative values of its students.”  In addition, the listed institutions provide a holistic conservative experience in which conservative students are comfortable and able to grow.

Thomas More College president, Dr. William Fahey, said “Thomas More College is honored to be chosen by the Young America’s Foundation as one of the top 14 conservative colleges in America.  At Thomas More College, we carefully guide our students through the best that has been written and said throughout the history of Western civilization.  Not too long ago, all institutions of higher education were committed to offering such an education.  It is heartening to know that the Young America’s Foundation has recognized Thomas More College as one of the few colleges that continue to educate students in the best of the Western intellectual tradition.”
