Prayer Request for Alumnus

by Thomas More College on August 28, 2012

It has come to the attention of the College that Suzanne Bercier, Class of 1997, has recently been diagnosed with adenocarcinoma. Dr. Fahey requests all alumni and friends of Thomas More College to pray for Suzanne.

The cancer is stage four and has metastasized, meaning it has spread all throughout Suzanne’s body. She is just 35 years old and only 3-6 credit hours away from receiving her M.A. degree. Sadly, Suzanne belonged to the same class at Thomas More College as Aimee Cowan (maiden name Alcarez) who passed away in 2008 after battling with cancer.

A special moment shared with Pope John Paul II during her TMC Rome Semester has inspired Suzanne to ask for his intercession especially. She asks for the following prayer to be said.

O Blessed Trinity, we thank You for having graced the Church with Pope John Paul II and for allowing the tenderness of Your Fatherly care, the glory of the cross of Christ, and the splendor of the Holy Spirit, to Shine through him.

Trusting fully in Your infinite mercy and in the maternal intercession of Mary, he has given us a living image of Jesus the Good Shepherd, and has shown us that holiness is the necessary measure of ordinary Christian life and is the way of achieving eternal communion with You.

Grant us, by his intercession, and according to Your will, the graces we implore…hoping that he will soon be numbered among Your saints.
