Concord, NH – A conference on Catholic literature and Catholic authors will be held on Saturday, March 29, 10am-4pm at St. John the Evangelist Activity Center (72 S. Main Street, Concord, NH).  Speakers include Thomas More College Writer-in-Residence Joseph Pearce, Thomas More College Visiting Professor Dr. Mitchell Kalpakgian, and Thomas More College chaplain Fr. Michael Kerper.

Mr. Pearce will address the Catholicism of J.R.R. Tolkein’s Lord of the Rings.  Dr. Kalpakgian will speak on God as Beauty in the Poetry of Gerard Manley Hopkins.  The topic of Fr. Kerper’s lecture is Walker Percy: The Conversion Story that Converts.

President Fahey said that he was proud that their scholars associated with the College were speaking.  “Thomas More College has long had a strong reputation as a prominent defender of Literature’s central place in the life of man.  The moral imagination must be nourished by great tales, or it will plunge into a self-absorption and darkness.”

Tickets for the Catholic Literature Conference are $15 and include lunch.  They may be purchased via the Christ the King Parish website,
