College Mourns the Passing of Alumna
On Monday, March 24th, Suzanne Therese Bercier passed away. Suzanne was a graduate of 1997 and had been struggling with cancer for the past few years.
Fr. John Healey, who knew Ms. Bercier well, remembered her at the College Mass on the Feast of the Incarnation, Wednesday, March 25th. The traditional prayers for the souls of the faithful departed were offered at that time.
Ms. Bercier is fondly recalled by her classmate and friend Maureen Mooney: “Suzanne was an unforgettable person who exuded happiness, graciousness, kindness, and concern for others at every turn. While a student at Thomas More College, Suzanne was well-known for her joyful demeanor, humble nature and generous spirit, as well as her devotion to the Blessed Mother and the rosary. During her courageous suffering these past two years she remained always prayerful and patient. The Class of 1997 was so fortunate to know her and learn from her piety. She influenced several of her college classmates in countless ways, including me. Our hearts and prayers go out to all the members of her loving family during this time.”
Suzanne Bercier’s name will be added to the plaques of the deceased alumni memorialized in the College chapel. The final Friday Mass of the Spring Semester is offered for all the deceased alumni of Thomas More College.
The College requests that alumni and friends join the Bercier family in praying the chaplet of Divine Mercy and the Rosary on Thursday, March 27th at 3pm and 7pm respectively.
A fuller obituary for Ms. Bercier may be read at the Gossen Funeral Home site, which includes the requests of the Bercier family and the funeral arrangements.
