2010 Fall Open House
Columbus Day Weekend
Sunday, October 10 and
Monday, October 11
Most courses of study in higher education aim at the production of a specialized skill, but at Thomas More College we aim at the production of a certain kind of human being—a man or woman whose soul is characterized by a love for what is noble and whose speech and actions are compelling witnesses to the value of a life spent in pursuit of the good.
Our four-year curriculum introduces you to the greatest books and minds spanning Western civilization. You will be taught to think, learn, and write according to the same traditional liberal arts that shaped the minds of America’s Founding fathers, the doctors of the Catholic Church, and the great political leaders of the Western world.
Unique to Thomas More College is our junior and senior tutorials, which enable you to work with our seasoned faculty to personally tailor a course of study in a particular discipline of your choice. These tutorials provide careful training in thinking, writing, and speaking, so that you can further hone the abilities you have gained from our common curriculum.
As a student here, you will take part in our required semester in Rome, staying at a majestic villa by night and taking private tours of Rome by day. You can also attend our Oxford, England program, or take advantage of internship opportunities at prestigious locations in New York and Washington, D.C.
All of this is offered at one of the lowest tuition rates in the country, and we may even be able to offer merit and need-based aid if you demonstrate a desire to learn.
